8 years, come and gone with the drop of a hat...look at that...
look at me...scary
Figured it out we thought...life...or at least how to live...
It was raining outside during Chip's funeral. A small gathering. Family, colleagues. A priest gave the eulogy, even though Chip never met him. Then it was over. Coffin lowered, with earth on top.
And she went home. Jolie. Back to her sophisticated apartment on the Upper West Side forgetting her ex-fiance, and ignoring the last 8 years of their life together. It wasn't all bad, but making it seem that way was an easy escape. Then she found Chip's note and the package...and suddenly she was no longer alone...
An edgy, sexy contemporary two-person musical scored with an original array of contemporary punk, pop, rock, and infused jazz, LOVERS, explores the darker side of a relationship spanning over a couple's journey from idealistic beginnings to cruel realities.
Chip and Jolie thought they found an unlikely love when an unexpected one-night-stand presented itself during their graduate studies in NYC. In a relationship spanned over 8 years from carefree impulses to increasing uncertainties, their story is set against human rhythms, harmonies and ultimately, the discords of Manhattan dreams versus Brooklyn realities.
Runtime: 120 minutes with an intermission between Act 1 and Act 2.
